CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES / OPERA EN CONCERT
Quatrième tragédie lyrique de la collaboration entre Lully et Quinault, Atys se distingue par ses qualités dramatiques. L’ouvrage compte aussi de véritables enchantements orchestraux, à l’exemple du tableau du sommeil et des songes au troisième acte, l’un des sommets d’une partition devenue mythique avec sa résurrection pour le tricentenaire de la mort du compositeur, dans un spectacle mis en scène par Jean-Marie Villégier où Les Arts Florissants dirigés par William Christie ont été un véritable vivier pour toute une génération de baroqueux. Christophe Rousset est de ceux-là, et son cycle Lully ne pouvait faire l’impasse sur un opus que l’Opéra de Versailles avait donné, il y a deux ans, dans une production d’Angelin Preljocaj, dirigée par Leonardo Garcia Alarcon et créée au Grand-Théâtre de Genève. Dans ce concert qui sera enregistré pour le label Château de Versailles Spectacles, le rôle-titre est confié à l’une des valeurs confirmées de la relève, Reinoud van Mechelen.
