Théâtre du Chêne Noir / de Olivier Rolin / mes Daniel Mesguich
Comme tous les héros d’Olivier Rolin, le voyageur de La langue est une sorte de double fictif de l’auteur. Un intellectuel un peu mélancolique, globbe-trotter et passionné par les mots. Incarné ici par Daniel Mesguich, le personnage s’installe un soir dans un bar désert. Irrité par une « voix bredouillante, grummeleuse, qui est probablement celle de la télévision, ou d’une radio », interprétée sur scène par Alexis Consolato, il engage le dialogue avec la serveuse du lieu (Sterenn Guiriec). Peu à peu, un langage commun s’installe, riche des deux idiomes de départ. Dans Au bout du monde, Daniel Mesguich porte ainsi sur le plateau la nécessité de la rencontre et du métissage exprimée par Olivier Rolin. Lequel a d’ailleurs écrit son texte suite à un colloque organisé en 1999 au Centre Pompidou, sur le thème « Le français et le cosmopolitisme ». Un sujet à méditer d’urgence.
