MUSIQUE YIDDISH / L’ALHAMBRA
A l’image de William Sheller ou Véronique Sanson, Catherine Lara fait partie de ces grands de la chanson française dont les racines artistiques sont à chercher du côté de la musique classique. Rares parmi les familiers des grandes scènes, des disques d’or et des tops, ceux qui comme elle ont fréquenté les bancs du Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris et en sont sortis avec un prix de violon et de musique de chambre ! Fille de musiciens, sa conscience musicale a fait d’elle d’emblée une artiste de variété, aimée d’un très large public, mais indépendante et sensible. Dans sa nouvelle aventure marquée par la sortie d’un disque enregistrée avec les musiciens classiques du prestigieux Sirba Octet (fondé par le violoniste Richard Schmoucler avec quelques premiers couteaux de la vie musicale parisienne), Catherine Lara se laisse envahir par la fièvre et la grâce de la musique yiddish. Dans l’album « Au cœur de l’âme Yiddish » qu’ils viennent d’enregistrer ensemble, puis bientôt en concert à Paris et en tournée, Catherine Lara revisite quelques-unes des plus belles chansons de son répertoire, mélodies voyageuses lovées dans de magnifiques arrangements, où la mélancolie n’est jamais très loin des joies de l’enfance, où la rage de vivre et d’aimer voisine avec les plus terribles tourments.
