Ils sont en résidence mensuelle depuis un petit bout de temps mais c’est toujours avec la même ferveur que les cinq musiciens d’Akalé Wubé se retrouvent, comme le 25 janvier, au Studio de l’Ermitage pour délivrer leurs éthio-grooves, une musique qui puise dans le son du Addis-Abeba des années 1960 ses couleurs harmoniques particulières, ses rythmes chaloupés et son atmosphère lancinante… Akalé Wubé a d’ailleurs collaboré avec une légende du genre, le chanteur Girma Bèyèné. C’est dire l’authenticité de sa démarche. Quatre jours plus tard, le 29 janvier, c’est la flûtiste Naïssam Jalal, fraîchement auréolée d’une Victoire du jazz, qui revient à son groupe Rhythms of Resistance, pour présenter en avant-première un nouveau répertoire dont une partie devrait prochainement voir le jour en version symphonique avec l’Orchestre de Bretagne. Entre-temps, le 27, le saxophoniste Christophe Panzani aura exploré « Les Mauvais Tempéraments » de son nouvel album, entouré d’une belle brochette de pianistes : Yonathan Avishai, Edouard Ferlet, Eric Legnini, Leonardo Montana et Tony Paeleman.
