MONTREUIL / GUITARE ET ELECTRONIQUE
Composée en 1964 pour un ensemble de 35 instrumentistes, In C est souvent considérée comme la partition fondatrice du mouvement minimaliste et répétitif de la musique américaine. Œuvre ouverte dans sa forme, elle laisse à l’interprète une marge immense d’expression puisque chacun des 53 motifs qui la composent peut être répété un nombre de fois illimité, à l’appréciation des instrumentistes. De la même manière, le nombre de musiciens est libre, du solo à plus d’une centaine de musiciens. L’influence de son compositeur Terry Riley a été immense, à la fois sur les musiciens rock des années 70, les compositeurs contemporains de Philip Glass à John Adams, ou le mouvement électro. Le jeune guitariste brésilien (de Paris) Aurélio Edler-Copes a réalisé une version passionnante de cette partition hypnotique, pour guitare électrique et électronique en temps réel. Au disque pour le label éOle Records de Pierre Jodlowsky et François Donato, mais aussi lors de ce concert exceptionnel, il confronte cette œuvre emblématique à une nouvelle composition de sa plume jouée en création mondiale : In Resonance, également pour guitare électrique et électronique en temps réel.
