Autochtone claque comme un coup de semonce, rompant avec les vaines joliesses et ambiances nostalgiques bricolées à l’ancienne, qui formatent gentiment tant de productions circassiennes aujourd’hui. D’emblée, se répand ici une hargne inquiète, qui tient aux corps et révèlent les peurs silencieusement nouées. « Dans une société qui le manipule, l’individu doit faire face à ce qu’elle lui impose. Il se sent tantôt désemparé tantôt révolté. Son corps se manifeste alors de différentes manières sur ce qu’il lui reste de territoire, pour autant que ce territoire existe encore. Il se bat, s’oppose et se protège par tous les moyens quelquefois avec poésie, quelquefois avec humour. », dit le Collectif AOC. Fondée voici dix ans par des artistes issus du Centre National des Arts du Cirque, la compagnie s’est entourée de la chorégraphe belge Karin Vyncke et signe une création forte qui en découd avec la sombre réalité, sans pompeux effets ni sentencieux didactisme.
Inventions circassiennes
Sur la piste, ça frappe, frotte, révolte, volte et voltige… Ils sont neuf, hommes et femmes ordinaires soumis à l’ordre sécuritaire, qui tantôt s’opposent et résistent à la mise en coupe réglée, tantôt succombent et se font séides du système. Violences, abus de pouvoir, expulsions, vies jetées en vrac, individus broyés ou épuisés au travail cadencent le quotidien de cette communauté de plus en plus uniforme. L’ombre de la peste brune rôde au plus près… Encerclée par le public, cette étrange société, peut-être secte clandestine, vaque ainsi à ses rudes occupations. Certains s’échappent alors en fantasmes, se réfugient dans les plis du conscient, s’évadent ailleurs pour desserrer la nasse qui les enferme et sangle la liberté. Mât chinois, trapèze, jonglage, trampoline, bascule, banquine, corde lisse ou encore acrobatie… les disciplines se croisent avec invention sur les rythmes rock jazz, mélancoliques ou ombrageux, de la musique jouée à même la piste par Jules Beckman. Tendus par l’urgence, les artistes transcendent les techniques de leurs agrès et manient le langage circassien, toujours aussi virtuose et puissant, comme autant de métaphores concrètes de la menace totalitaire qui guette l’humain.
