Un homme d’âge moyen, assis face à son petit-déjeuner, est pris dans la minutieuse répétition de ses habitudes. Puis la routine déraille, et deux doubles métaphoriques font leur apparition. On comprend bientôt qu’ils représentent le même individu à deux autres âges de sa vie. Toute la narration passe ici par le corps et par les images construites. La jonglerie constitue le trait d’union entre ces trois incarnations, mais le spectacle fait aussi une belle place aux acrobaties et à la roue Cyr. À chacun des trois âges, à chacun des trois corps, correspond un rapport différent à l’explosivité, au rythme et à la prise de risque. Les soli alternent avec des scènes où plusieurs interprètes coexistent au plateau. Ce dialogue d’un homme avec lui-même, qui montre avant tout ses moments de doute, est cependant empreint d’une forme de tendresse pour tous ces âges traversés, et s’efforce de les réconcilier. Cette élégance dans le propos se retrouve à un niveau formel : une scénographie sobre, un accompagnement musical qui gagne en complexité au fur et à mesure du spectacle, et surtout une mise en lumière parcimonieuse et précise qui met parfaitement en valeur le corps des interprètes. Une démonstration du fait que le cirque n’a pas besoin d’être bavard pour raconter beaucoup.
