En clôture du Festival Don Quijote au Café de la Danse, Luis Jimenez met en scène un texte célèbre du théâtre espagnol contemporain, qui se déroule pendant la Guerre Civile (1936-1939), meurtrière et traumatisante. Le titre reprend le refrain d’une chanson populaire, née paraît-il pendant la guérilla contre Napoléon 1er puis reprise par les Brigades Internationales et les Républicains espagnols. « Mais rien ne pourront les bombes… contre nos cœurs enflammés. » Les deux protagonistes de la pièce, Paulino et Carmela, deux artistes de variété en tournée dans la zone républicaine, passent par erreur dans la zone franquiste et sont arrêtés. Ils sont contraints d’improviser un spectacle patriotique devant les militaires et aussi devant les prisonniers républicains, qui seront exécutés le lendemain. Humour, horreur, trahison, compassion se mêlent dans une fresque que le metteur en scène Luis Jimenez souhaite sobre et dépouillée, afin de mettre en relief « le thème politique intemporel du texte ». A travers cette pièce, Zorongo s’associe « au travail de “récupération de la mémoire historique“ qui fait débat actuellement en Espagne et rend hommage à la loyauté des Républicains espagnols et des Brigades Internationales. »
