Rosalba Torres Guerrero, superbe danseuse d’Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, et Koen Augustijnen, membre des Ballets C. de la B., avaient conquis le monde avec Badke, créé avec l’A.M. Qattan Foundation à Ramallah. Inversion du nom d’une danse palestinienne, le Dabke, cette recréation revendiquait ses racines folkloriques. Depuis, ils ont fondé leur propre compagnie nommée Siamese. (B) tire son origine d’un documentaire d’Alain Platel Les Ballets de ci en là, pour lequel Koen Augustijnen avait réuni des danseurs des Ballets C. de la B. et des boxeurs du club gantois, les Golden Gloves. Dans cette nouvelle pièce, sept danseurs contemporains et trois boxeurs se partagent la distribution. La scène n’est-elle pas une arène où se jouent le dépassement de soi, la puissance et la fragilité ? Pendant le spectacle, la vidéo en direct leur permet d’accentuer les épreuves de force : zoom sur les corps, sublimant la violence dans une fascinante beauté. « Le combat est gagné ou perdu loin des témoins – derrière les lignes, dans la salle de sport et là-bas sur la route, bien avant que je danse sous ces lumières », disait Mohamed Ali. Augustijnen et Torres Guerrero font le choix d’une danse hybride où danse et boxe se confondent pour saisir la face cachée de la force.
