S’appuyant sur une formule instrumentale spécifique (piano-basse et chant) et un répertoire désormais dominé par les compositions originales, ce beau trio déjà repéré dans ces colonnes avec un premier album attachant signe un superbe deuxième opus (autoproduit) intitulé « D’Est en Ouest ». « Nos choix musicaux puisent délibérément dans les musiques rythmiques et festives : musiques créoles, africaines, funk, pop…- mais les parties rythmiques et percussions sont suggérées par les arrangements qui proposent une « autre » lecture de ces musiques qui s’appuient habituellement sur les percussions » souligne le trio. Imprégnée de mille rythmes (et langues) d’ailleurs, la musique nous embarque sans peine, porteuse de textes sensibles reflétant l’humeur voyageuse et universelle de ce groupe allant « à bon tempo des songes troublants ». Attention, Ba-Ya s’installe en résidence tous les derniers dimanche du mois au Baiser Salé. Avec Caroline Faber (chant et percus), Mathieu Debordes (piano) et Christian Duperray (basse).
