ORATORIO / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES
Claveciniste, organiste et chef d’orchestre, Masaaki Suzuki et son Bach Collegium Japan sont engagés dans une importante tournée européenne qui, après Lyon, Londres et Dublin, et avant Vienne et Amsterdam, passe par la salle de l’Avenue Montaigne. Le Bach Collegium Japan, composée d’un orchestre jouant sur instruments anciens et d’un chœur, est la formation baroque japonaise la plus connue dans le monde. Une notoriété définitivement acquise depuis leur entreprise monumentale pour le label BIS d’une intégrale des cantates de Bach en 55 CD réalisée sur près de 20 ans entre 1995 et 2004, dont chacun des volumes a suscité une large approbation de la critique internationale. Personnage placide et souriant, aux longs cheveux blancs très seventies, c’est du clavecin que Masaaki Suzuki dirige ses musiciens dans une approche chambriste qui fait respirer la musique avec finesse, modestie, intelligence et respect scrupuleux du texte, mais aussi avec une musicalité et un sens du relief parfaits. Trois œuvres sont au programme de leur unique concert parisien : les cantates Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis, BWV 21 et Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust, BWV 170 et le Magnificat en ré majeur, BWV 243. Bach entre de bonnes mains.
