Bagneux est en quelque sorte la capitale du Blues en France, en tout cas la ville qui vit naître le premier grand festival du genre. C’était en 1969 et tout a commencé autour de l’idée d’une bande de copains d’organiser un concert de John Lee Hooker… Presque quarante ans plus tard, la Bagneux Blues Night est toujours là ! Sa prochaine édition se déroulera en trois temps avec un Hommage rendu à Junior Wells par le Blues Band de l’harmoniciste Steve Verbeke (fils du grand Patrick), puis le trio du chanteur et guitariste Wes Mackey, vétéran dépositaire d’un art du blues fruit de plus d’un demi-siècle sur les routes, entre autres aux côtés de légendes nommées John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters ou Jimmy Reed. Enfin, la nuit se conclura en apothéose, avec un plateau issu du Chicago Blues Festival 2008 réunissant Shakura S’aida (chant), Andrew Jr Boy Jones (guitare / chant), Dc Bellamy (guitare / chant), Ken SDaydak (piano / chant), Willie Hayes (batterie) et Russel Jackson (basse). Un événement exceptionnel.
