« Tout projet pour une scène est selon moi avant tout l’enjeu d’une rencontre entre les individus qui la foulent. Un déplacement de leur quotidien que l’on confronte à d’autres règles et qui sont celles de la scène. » explique Rachid Ouramdane, qui, de pièce en pièce, affûte la danse sur la question de l’identité. Frappé par la diversité du Ballet de l’Opéra de Lyon, qui compte quatorze nationalités pour trente-deux danseurs, le chorégraphe a choisi d’explorer les liens qui relient l’Histoire et l’intime. Car nombre d’entre eux viennent de pays heurtés par les tourmentes guerrières et les violences de la misère. Créée avec sept interprètes, la pièce Superstars est tissée d’entretiens filmés où chacun confie son parcours accidenté. Autant de maux qui lestent la gestuelle, souple, presque voluptueuse, de ces « anti-héros ». Avec Enemy in the Figure, deuxième acte du fascinant Limb’s theorem (1990) de William Forsythe, les danseurs soutiennent avec virtuosité le phrasé syncopé de ce poème chorégraphique. Une autre facette de leur talent, tout aussi éblouissant.
