PALAIS GARNIER / OPERA VERSION DE CONCERT
Peu représenté sur les scènes françaises, Béatrice et Bénédict figure pourtant parmi les opéras les plus attachants du répertoire. Créée au festival de Baden-Baden en 1862, l’œuvre s’inspire de Beaucoup de bruit pour rien de Shakespeare. Si le livret est un peu décousu, il reste que la musique – une des dernières partitions de Berlioz – se révèle pétillante, tendre, légère et gaie, au point qu’on la compare souvent au Falstaff de Verdi. Sous la baguette de Philippe Jordan et dans la mise en espace de Stephen Taylor, la distribution comporte la fine fleur du chant français : Stanislas de Barbeyrac (Bénédict), Sabine Devieilhe (Héro), Stéphanie d’Oustrac (Béatrice), Florian Sempey (Claudio), Laurent Naouri, Aude Extrémo…
