Mordants, insolents et fantaisistes en diable, les « spectacles » des 26000 couverts sèment la pagaille depuis une quinzaine d’années entre le vrai et le faux, se faufilant dans le réel pour mieux en corroder les rouages et en brosser la satire. C’est au détour d’un coin de rue que cette compagnie d’énergumènes savamment perturbateurs vient surprendre le spectateur et détourner les habitudes du regard. Cet art de déjouer les codes de la représentation questionne avec un malin plaisir le rapport au public et le sens de l’acte théâtral dans le temps même de son énonciation. Qu’après ces années à arpenter le macadam ou investir les espaces les plus insolites, les 26000 couverts décident de rentrer en salle et de monter Beaucoup de bruit pour rien de Shakespeare ne manque pas d’intriguer…
Détournement de genre
« Shakespeare m’intéresse en tant qu’il incarne l’archétype d’un théâtre épique et l’avènement de la scène élisabéthaine, fermée. Des générations de metteurs en scène se sont emparées de ses pièces, les ont réinterprétées, dévoyées, réécrites. Nous réalisons une transformation ultime, jusqu’à réduire ce grand classique à son essence de symbole culturel, pour interroger le désir des spectateurs, le phénomène même de l’attente et le sens de l’événement théâtral. » explique Philipe Nicolle, directeur de la troupe, qui dévie volontiers la glose pontifiante barbouillant parfois le théâtre de belles intentions au risque d’en oublier l’essentiel : le lien avec le spectateur et l’acte artistique. « Le rôle des artistes consiste à semer du non-sens et du désordre dans une pensée qui devient trop organisée, voire tyrannique. ».
