Véritable spécialiste de la pédagogie de l’écoute – autant à la télévision, à la radio que sur scène –, Jean-François Zygel nous invite dans « Mon ami Beethoven » à entrer dans une certaine intimité avec le compositeur. « Pour célébrer le 250e anniversaire de sa naissance, je n’ai pas voulu évoquer les œuvres les plus célèbres ou les plus monumentales, mais plutôt révéler un visage de Beethoven plus intime, familier, et personnel » explique le sémillant Zygel. « C’est un peu comme si pendant ce concert nous pénétrions dans l’atelier de Beethoven » résume-t-il. Il a choisi pour cela des œuvres méconnues et originales comme ses pièces pour mandoline et piano, ses quatuors pour trombones ou encore ses arrangements de chansons populaires (le 11 janvier à 20h30), avec Edwin Crossley-Mercer (baryton-basse) et Julien Martineau (mandoline). Quatre jours plus tard dans la même salle, le chef d’orchestre Mathieu Herzog à la tête de son orchestre Appassionato proposera un concert pédagogique tout public de la série « Vous trouvez ça classique ? » pour nous faire entendre autrement la Symphonie n° 6 « Pastorale » (et quelques extraits de la Septième), d’abord à travers des extraits commentés, puis en la jouant intégralement.
