Benjamin Millepied et son L.A. Dance Project arrivent enfin à la Scène Musicale après avoir finalement créé leur version de Roméo Juliette aux Nuits de Fourvière. Inspiré par la partition de Prokofiev dont il a extrait les meilleurs moments, le chorégraphe livre une série de tableaux qui se déclinent sur scène mais aussi dans les coulisses et les extérieurs, alors qu’une caméra à l’épaule suit les interprètes lorsqu’ils sont hors du champ de vision des spectateurs. Cette version très cinématographique du mythe des amants de Vérone est aussi résolument moderne. En effet, selon les représentations, ce sont deux femmes, deux hommes ou un homme et une femme qui voient leurs amours contrariées par leurs clans familiaux.
