« Un rire salvateur et libérateur, un rire qui se fera entendre jusque dans les Alpes, un rire capable de vidanger une voiture sans l’aide d’un mécanicien agréé, un rire qui permet de courir à plus de 100 km/h sans prothèse » : avis donc aux montagnards, aux garagistes, aux unijambistes et aux autres, Fred Tousch débarque à Avignon avec sa verve et sa faconde, son sens inné de la provocation et ses envolées fantaisistes ! Pour sauver son peuple de la misère et de l’alcoolisme, Benoît, « fils de pintadier du roy » doit faire rire Chancelin Maubert, l’homme qui ne rit jamais : en route, donc, pour la longue et difficile « quête de la rigolade ». Dans ce conte musical proche de l’univers des Monty Python, Fred Tousch chante, danse et joue un Moyen Age loufoque et déjanté. Dans Knüt, il s’agit pour le trublion malicieux de « projeter le public dans un tourbillon iconoclaste et surréaliste » en parlant de l’économie mondiale et des tensions planétaires, en beuglant à tue-tête des vieilles chansons indiennes de sa composition et en faisant apparaître la neige et une pluie d’étoiles… Solide programme et roborative perspective que ceux de ces deux spectacles joués en alternance où les salves de rire promettent de se déclencher tout azimut, Fred Tousch relevant, en matière de rire, de l’arme de destruction massive…
