Avec ses complices de l’Orchestre de Picardie dirigé par Arie Van Beek, et sa soliste fétiche la violoniste Noëmi Schindler, Bernard Cavanna rapproche ses deux concertos pour violon, composés à vingt ans d’écart. Ils convoquent selon lui deux mondes qui s’opposent, alors qu’aujourd’hui s’annonce « un changement de civilisation ». « Le premier concerto était inscrit dans une pensée plus classique. La partie de violon solo du nouveau concerto nécessitera quatre violons accordés avec une scordature spécifique. Des systèmes qui ouvrent des espaces étonnants, offrent des perspectives nouvelles… Il s’agit d’un « violon abîmé », presque cassé, meurtri, comme si on avait retrouvé dans un grenier un instrument oublié dans sa boîte depuis plus de cent ans ! » explique Cavanna. Un concert important éclairant aussi le lien fusionnel qui peut parfois exister entre un compositeur et son interprète : « Mon écriture pour le violon est quasi consubstantielle au jeu de Noëmi ! Le son du violon que j’imagine est forcément celui que je pressens de son jeu. Il y a une compréhension immédiate, une telle intimité entre son jeu et ce que je lui propose que je me demande si ce n’est pas elle qui écrit ! », confie le compositeur. En ouverture de programme : les 9 solos pour violon(s) et ensemble à cordes du jeune compositeur argentin Tomás Bordalejo.
