Relire Brecht est aujourd’hui une nécessité salvatrice. Les quelques représentations que l’actrice Nada Strancar avait pu donner en septembre dernier de son tour de chant consacré au dramaturge mis en musique par Paul Dessau l’avaient encore montré. En cette fin de saison, deux concerts remettent en scène le couple célèbre formé par les deux exilés berlinois, Bertolt Brecht et Kurt Weill. Le 14 juin, HK Gruber, chef d’orchestre et compositeur inclassable, dirige le célèbre Opéra de quat’sous à la tête du Klangforum Wien tout en chantant le rôle de Peachum, le roi des mendiants. À ses côtés : Ian Bostridge dans le rôle de Mackie le Surineur et Angelika Kirchshlager dans celui de la belle Jenny. Cette dernière sera d’ailleurs l’interprète sur la même scène des Sept Péchés capitaux de Weill et Brecht en septembre prochain. En attendant, la Salle Pleyel accueille dans ce même « ballet chanté », composé en 1935, la chanteuse Marianne Faithfull le 6 juin.
