Quel est le “message” de votre festival ?
Blaise Merlin : J’invite toujours des gens de parole pour prouver que l’art n’est jamais loin de la pensée, et la pensée de l’humain!Les langues et les (agri)cultures sont progressivement rongées et uniformisées par les modes, les images et le mensonge publicitaire à des fins mercantiles. Les espaces de véritable liberté se font rares, peu d’artistes ont encore la place, le courage ou la possibilité de se défaire des formats imposés par l’industrie culturelle ou les institutions. Entre la culture « de masse » et la culture institutionnalisée telle qu’on la conçoit habituellement, il existe aujourd’hui un océan de créativité, d’exigence, de liberté et de rencontres potentielles qui dépasse allègrement ces frontières. C’est dans cette zone de dialogue, d’échange et de liberté esthétique que nous nous situons. À travers Jazz Nomades, nous cassons les formats habituels pour construire des soirées à multiples facettes, où danse, théâtre, musiques du monde, jazz, science et politique dialoguent au fil de rencontres parfois mûrement réfléchies, parfois réservées à l’élan magique de la spontanéité.

Comment organisez-vous chaque soirée de votre programmation ?
B. M. : La force du festival, c’est cette circulation des énergies entre le corps, l’esprit, la fête et la réflexion. Nous organisons nos soirées autour de thèmes où tout le monde peut avoir son "mot" à dire, musiciens, danseurs, slameurs, astrophysiciens, mystiques ou anarchistes… La force de ce programme est dans le cheminement qu’il offre à l’artiste et au spectateur, avec une grande liberté de circulation entre les formes d’expression, hors de tout cadre habituel de style ou de durée. On part de ce qui fait la force de la musique (le dialogue entre les cultures, le rythme, le son) pour se jeter vers l’inconnu, pour se projeter vers l’autre. Nous ne comptons plus le nombre de spectateurs qui se disent profondément bouleversés par ce qu’ils ont vécu au sein de nos soirées, déplorant la rareté de ce type de démarches, qui semblent pourtant évidentes !
