« Oh miroir ! Dis-moi qui est la plus belle »… Voilà des siècles que la question tourmente les femmes en secret, ferrées qu’elles sont dans l’obsession esthétique à force d’être sagement modelées dès l’enfance par l’attente du prince charmant. L’inquiétude vire maintenant au matraquage cathodique, qui finit par usiner les petites filles en copies conformes dans leur corps et désirs. S’inspirant du conte de Grimm pour en démonter les rouages normalisateurs, Martine Waniowski précipite Blanche-Neige dans notre époque sous emprise des écrans. Télévisions, ordinateurs, vidéos, téléphones et consoles déversent à plein tube les modèles consuméristes qui servent désormais d’idéaux. « Notre Blanche-Neige pose un regard critique sur la violence de notre société de consommation et sur le diktat de l’apparence qui fait, aujourd’hui plus que jamais, loi et norme, sur les écrans de toutes sortes. » raconte-t-elle. Avec la Compagnie des Bestioles qui affiche quelque quinze créations depuis 2000, elle met en scène une jeune fille d’aujourd’hui perdue entre le réel et le virtuel, en quête d’une réalité non formatée.
