PIANO / NEW MORNING
Bojan Z puis Ray Lema, infatigables et insatiables éclaireurs de nouveaux horizons, se succèdent ce mois-ci sur la scène du New Morning. Le 15 janvier, Bojan Z, Artiste de l’Année aux Victoires du Jazz 2012, se laisse inspirer par la force critique du Chaplin des « Temps Modernes » (1936), pour évoquer à son tour nos « Modern Times » souvent troublés (titre de son nouveau projet musical). Sa démarche prend alors l’apparence d’un hommage « aux grands artistes des temps tourmentés », de Chaplin à Picasso, de Stravinsky à Duke Ellington, « pour imaginer de meilleurs lendemains, inventifs et créatifs »… Avec Bojan Z (claviers, machines, piano), Maxime Zampieri (batterie), Antoine Guillemette (basse) et Nenad Gajin (guitare). Une semaine plus tard, Ray Lema signe avec « Nzimbué » un hommage à la voix et aux deux Congo. A la fois nostalgique et novateur, Ray Lema alterne saveurs vintage de la rumba de Kinshasa et sonorités urbaines actuelles de Brazzaville, en invitant Ballou Canta (guitare,voix), ambianceur légendaire et voix d’or de la rumba congolaise, à dialoguer dans un choc des mondes et des générations, avec le jeune Fredy Massamba (flûte,voix), chanteur des Tambours de Brazza et membre des Positive Black Soul (PBS) et des Zap Mama.
