Michael Batz crée des spectacles coups de poing qui mettent en lumière et dénoncent les injustices de notre monde, injustices criantes et pourtant si souvent muettes, tant les victimes demeurent vouées à l’oubli. Des spectacles qui prennent corps à travers la qualité de l’interprétation et la langue à la fois réaliste et poétique de Kay Adshead, retraçant les souffrances et laissant entendre l’indicible inhumain qui parfois frappe dans l’Histoire, et toujours resurgit, éternellement actuel. La Femme fantôme raconte l’histoire d’une jeune femme fuyant l’Afrique, unique survivante d’une tuerie qui a anéanti sa famille, et demandeuse d’asile en Angleterre. Elle affronte sur le supposé refuge du sol occidental brutalités, mensonges et humiliations. Une seule comédienne, Nadège Beausson-Diagne, interprète brillamment le personnage central, ainsi que tous les autres. Bones orchestre la confrontation entre deux femmes – Nadine Servan et Wilda Philippe -, et explore leur rapport au passé. Jennifer, femmes blanche de 60 ans, est l’épouse d’un policier sud-africain en train de mourir, qui avait coutume la nuit de partir chasser et torturer l’homme noir. Beauty est une jeune fille noire qui veut dénoncer le silence qui laisse faire les bourreaux.
