Théâtre de la Ville Chorégraphie Wim Vandekeybus
Booty Looting, autrement dit « Piller le butin » : lancée par Wim Vandekeybus, l’injonction rafle d’emblée la mise ! Dans cette pièce pour deux performers, quatre danseurs, un photographe et une photocopieuse, le chorégraphe flamand explore le processus mémoriel et gratte les images qui se superposent aux souvenirs, jusqu’à flouter le passé. Se télescopent ici histoires et citations : celles de l’actrice allemande Birgit Walter, Médée contemporaine qui sacrifia ses enfants sur l’autel de la carrière, les coyotes de Joseph Beuys et autres happenings légendaires réinterprétés par Jerry Killick en maître de l’esbroufe. Chaque « personnage » brouille les pistes, bricole un collage entre vérité, mensonge, vécu et passé, tandis que le photographe Danny Willems dérobe des instants qu’il fixe en projections. Imposture, mystification ou diversion ? Tout cela, bien sûr… Ici la danse exulte, portée par les élans farouches de l’instinct et la guitare électrique de Blijweert qui lâche par salves son énergie rageuse. Et sans doute est-ce là, au revers de la représentation, que se dévoile un peu de vérité…
