TENOR ET PIANO / PHILHARMONIE
Alors qu’à la Seine musicale, Natalie Dessay s’aventure dans les répertoires de la chanson française et des standards de jazz accompagnée par un Big Band, le ténor anglais Ian Bostridge, schubertien averti et familier des grands rôles de l’opéra baroque, entre sur scène en compagnie d’un certain… Brad Mehldau. Le pianiste de jazz américain qui voue lui aussi un véritable culte à la musique de Schubert a composé pour Ian Bostridge un cycle de mélodies pour voix et piano pour lesquels il a scrupuleusement choisi tous les textes (dont un poème jamais mis en musique de William Butler Yeats…), en grand passionné de littérature et de poésie. Ces pages chantées en anglais seront mises en regard du cycle Dichterliebe de Robert Schumann, chef-d’œuvre du Romantisme allemand. Après cette date parisienne, les deux acolytes seront en tournée jusqu’au 6 mars et joueront le même programme à Barcelone, Hambourg, Londres, Luxembourg et Berlin.
