Connue pour leurs œuvres scéniques (L’Opéra de quat’sous, Mahagonny, Les Sept Péchés capitaux), la collaboration de Bertolt Brecht avec Kurt Weill s’étend à bien d’autres genres où l’ironie mordante et engagée du dramaturge rencontre la verve et l’expression très directe du compositeur. C’est le cas en particulier pour le Berliner Requiem de 1928, leur premier ouvrage réalisé en commun, que dirige ici HK Grüber à la tête de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France (il dirige aussi la création française de son concerto pour trompette Busking avec en soliste Hakan Hardenberger). Le compositeur, chef et chansonnier avait l’an dernier donné une interprétation très juste de L’Opéra de quat’sous au Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Le 7 novembre, l’ensemble Damals und heute présente d’autres œuvres contemporaines du Berliner Requiem, dont Der Lindberghflug.
