Le claveciniste et chef d’orchestre Christophe Rousset s’est donné pour
mission d’exhumer les trésors oubliés de l’histoire de la musique. Dernière
découverte en date, la Passion écrite en 1713 par Reinhard Keiser sur un
texte de Barthold Heinrich Brockes. Les deux hommes furent des figures
importantes de la vie artistique hambourgeoise à l’époque baroque. Keiser était
un Kappelmeister influent, tandis que Brockes alliait la fonction de poète à
celle de sénateur. Fruit de leur rencontre, cette Passion sera servie au
Théâtre des Champs-Elysées par une belle pléiade de chanteurs. Le rôle de
l’Evangéliste permettra ainsi d’entendre l’excellent ténor Kobie van Rensburg.
On se réjouira, enfin, de retrouver les instruments anciens des Talens lyriques,
toujours méticuleux et raffinés.
