Une page musicale de l’histoire européenne va reprendre vie aux Invalides. En 1813, Talleyrand passe commande au compositeur autrichien Sigismond Neukomm (1778-1858) d’un Requiem à la mémoire de Louis XVI, tout juste 20 ans après la décapitation du Roi déchu le 21 janvier 1793… L’œuvre est créée, dans un esprit de paix et de reconstruction européenne, lors du Congrès de Vienne, en la cathédrale Saint-Etienne, le 21 janvier 1815, devant les représentants des plus grandes puissances mondiales. Neukomm et Salieri codirigent la partition mobilisant alors 300 chanteurs. Plus de deux siècles plus tard, c’est le chef et claveciniste franco-brésilien Bruno Procopio qui défend ce programme exceptionnel, à la tête des Chœur et Orchestre Sorbonne Université. Il choisit d’associer à ce bouleversant Requiem longtemps oublié – exhumé par Jean-Claude Malgoire en 2016 – la Symphonie Héroïque du même Neukomm composée l’année suivante, en 1816, lors d’un voyage au Brésil. Avec en solistes : Alice Ferrière (soprano), Sacha Hatala (mezzo), Sébastien Obrecht (ténor)et Sydney Fierro (baryton).
