Serrés les uns contre les autres sur les bancs boisés du Théâtre du peuple, revigorés par la douce fraîcheur des Vosges et la force d’un théâtre populaire… Chaque été, des milliers de spectateurs de tous horizons se pressent à Bussang pour partager ce moment unique, porté par l’utopie fondatrice de Maurice Pottecher. « Bussang est un lieu qui fait le pari de l’équilibre délicat entre tradition et innovation, un lieu qui revendique un théâtre d’art populaire, un théâtre qui a le grand avantage de ne pas avoir honte de son passé tout en sachant que sa vitalité dépend de son audace et de son degré d’invention. » aime à rappeler Pierre Guillois, qui assume la direction de cette institution depuis 2005. En témoignent les deux créations de l’édition 2010. Avec Peau d’âne, l’auteur et metteur en scène Olivier Tchang Tchong unit amateurs et professionnels pour explorer les ombres du conte et les territoires d’enfance abandonnés. Pierre Guillois rassemble quant à lui une joyeuse troupe d’hurluberlus pour une « opérette barge », qui enchaîne les numéros les plus farfelus sur une trame vaudevillesque, le tout cousu d’un grand secret… à découvrir sur place.
