Suite à une conversation enflammée dans un café parisien, Bardamu, s’engage avec enthousiasme et plonge dans la Première Guerre mondiale, pour vite en découvrir l’absurdité et l’horreur. Pour porter la parole singulière de Bardamu et faire apparaître la prise de conscience en forme de « dépucelage » qui s’y opère, Chloé Desfachelle a choisi la forme du solo, confiant à Antoine Bersoux ce voyage intérieur d’une solitude aux abois. Après avoir échappé à « cet abattoir international en folie » et traversé la Méditerranée à bord de l’Amiral Bragueton, Bardamu découvre l’Afrique : deuxième partie de l’adaptation. Après une halte à Fort Gono, il s’enfonce par le fleuve dans la forêt, afin d’aller tenir un comptoir avancé pour la compagnie Pordurière. En duo avec Gahé Bama, qui incarne l’Afrique et les Africains, Antoine Bersoux continue le périple de Bardamu. Dans ces deux spectacles, qui peuvent être vus séparément, ou l’un après l’autre, la compagnie AB&CD Production choisit le théâtre pour mieux faire entendre la verve célinienne et sa « prose musclée où le tragique côtoie sans cesse l’absurde et le burlesque ».
