Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines / texte et mes Marion Pellissier
Faisant l’hypothèse que la mémoire est un instrument de survie, Marion Pellissier imagine l’enfermement d’un homme et d’une femme qui s’obstinent à raconter leurs souvenirs pour ne pas définitivement sombrer dans l’inanité de l’oubli. Colonne après colonne, ils écrivent sur les murs ce qu’ils se rappellent. « On comprend petit à petit qu’ils perdent la mémoire et qu’ils ont créé un rituel, bien avant que la pièce commence, pour préserver leur passé. Ils s’exercent à se raconter ce dont ils se souviennent, même s’ils ne savent plus s’il s’agit de rêves ou de la réalité. » Perdre la mémoire serait perdre l’autre autant que soi-même ; lutter contre ses effets permet de garder leur amour vivant, car « l’amour sans souvenir n’existera plus ». Mais comment être sûr de la réalité des choses quand les récits diffèrent ? Au théâtre d’en conserver la trace et à la représentation d’en assurer la conservation !
