Ibrahima Sissoko est une figure du paysage chorégraphique hip hop français depuis les années 90. Son nom est associé à la compagnie Choréam (Stéphanie Nataf et José Bertogal), pour laquelle il collabore en tant que danseur sur quatre créations. Il devient ensuite le fondateur de la compagnie Ethadam et s’affirme alors comme chorégraphe. Le parcours d’Ibrahima Sissoko se définit beaucoup à travers ses complicités avec la famille hip hop, comme en témoigne également son travail avec Hamalian’s. On attend donc beaucoup de cette rencontre avec la Sud-africaine Robyn Orlin, rencontre d’un danseur affirmé dans une démarche, et d’une chorégraphe éclectique capable de travailler avec les danseurs de l’Opéra de Paris comme avec les « swankas » sud-africains.
Un plateau aux présences conjuguées
Eclectique, Ibrahima l’est aussi à sa manière : il porte en lui toutes les gammes de la sphère hip hop, passé du graf au rap avant de danser. La chorégraphe propose ici au danseur de se confronter à son univers, construit notamment à travers le travail vidéo de Philippe Lainé. Comme toujours, derrière la performance, l’humour, le décalage qui construisent les pièces de Robyn Orlin, se cache un regard acide sur le monde d’aujourd’hui. Au cœur de ce projet : un dialogue autour des violences urbaines, repris à plusieurs voix du fait de la présence en temps réel du travail du dessinateur Maxime Rebière.
