Compositeur et pianiste de premier plan, Carlos Roque Alsina est né à Buenos Aires le 19 février 1941, de mère hongroise et de père argentin. Très jeune, il débute une importante carrière internationale de pianiste marquée par des collaborations avec des chefs de la stature d’Otto Klemperer. Vers l’âge de quatorze ans, il écrit sa première pièce, point de départ d’une imposante œuvre de compositeur qui compte aujourd’hui plus de 110 partitions dont la Deuxième Symphonie, commandée à l’occasion des 50 ans de l’Orchestre de Paris, et créée sous la direction de Semyon Bychkov, mais aussi plus récemment Phares et Rayonnements pour bande et trois instrumentistes où Carlos Roque Alsina expérimente pour la première fois le traitement électroacoustique en temps réel. Invité de la saison culturelle de Bagneux, Carlos Roque Alsina s’exprime lors de ce concert uniquement en tant qu’interprète en livrant son regard libre et profond sur la musique de Scarlatti, Schoenberg, Beethoven, François et Messiaen.
