Qui se frotte à l’écriture de Thomas Bernhard souvent y revient. Ainsi Célie Pauthe et Claude Duparfait, qui créent ensemble en 2011 Des arbres à abattre, se retrouvent-ils aujourd’hui autour d’un autre texte de l’écrivain autrichien, Oui. Entre temps, chacun a poursuivi de son côté son chemin bernhardien. C’est donc avec un sens aigu de l’écriture vertigineuse de l’auteur que les deux se lancent dans l’adaptation du court roman paru en 1978. Traversé par « l’éreintement, ou plutôt l’intranquillité » de l’univers de Berhnard, le comédien déploie seul en scène une intrigue aux accents policiers. Il y joue le rôle du narrateur, un homme enfermé dans sa misanthropie, qui dans un village perdu de Haute-Autriche rencontre une autre solitude : une femme, la « Persane », incarnée à l’image par Mina Kavani. Une fois la relation derrière lui, l’homme se souvient des promenades partagées. Il interroge les traces qu’elles ont laissées en lui…
