Django Reinhardt, dont on célèbre cette année le centième anniversaire de la naissance, fait déjà évidemment partie de l’histoire de la musique du XXè siècle. Mais il reste dans le même temps une figure musicale d’une intacte actualité dont l’influence demeure évidente sur de nombreux jeunes musiciens de premier plan. Le projet « Django 100 », qui associe nombre d’entre eux parmi les plus prestigieux et respectés, à commencer par le noyau dur au départ de l’aventure composé de Boulou et Elios Ferré, Romane et Angelo Debarre, est une saisissante illustration du phénomène. D’autres magnifiques guitaristes ont aussi rejoint le projet comme David Reinhardt, Noé Reinhardt, Stochelo Rosenberg et Mathieu Chatelain, tous réunis sur la scène du TCE. Autre événement de la vague « Django » actuelle, le magnifique album " Nuvens de Saudade, 100 ans de Reinhardt – Django, Babik, David" sorti récemment chez Cristal Records. Un album de David Reinhardt qui a de qui tenir étant petit-fils de Django et fils de Babik ! Ce jeune héritier et réinventeur du swing manouche, né en 1966, est aussi actuellement omniprésent sur les scènes françaises, à la tête de son propre trio ou du Nouveau Trio Gitan avec Christian Escoudé et Jean Baptiste Laya.
