C’est dans le paradoxe jouissif que Joël Pommerat installe d’emblée les spectateurs de Cercles / Fictions. En effet, installé tout autour d’une arène où se succèdent les scènes qui composent cette œuvre, le public voit tout et ne voit pourtant rien venir ! Panoptique et magique, le théâtre ainsi créé se fait mystagogue. Les étapes de l’histoire surgissent comme des prodiges du noir profond et silencieux qui en scande le déroulement et on ne comprend pas d’emblée d’où et comment apparaissent les éléments de décor et les acteurs de ce récit fabuleux. Tout participe à ainsi forcer l’entendement à renoncer à la clarté du concept, pour mieux permettre à la sensibilité de se laisser embarquer dans un voyage merveilleux. Les lumières d’Eric Soyer et Jean-Gabriel Valot et la réalisation sonore de François Leymarie, soignées, suggestives, poignantes ou terrifiantes, aident à la composition d’un univers à la puissance évocatrice éblouissante. Il ne s’agit pas ici de comprendre, mais de ressentir et la sollicitation sensuelle que propose ce spectacle provoque une expérience de spectateur riche de fulgurances dont le théâtre est rarement capable.
Un chef-d’œuvre de travail et d’émotion
S’il est des choses à comprendre aux récits entrecroisés dans cette proposition sidérante de maîtrise, force est d’admettre qu’elles demeurent individuelles et que chaque spectateur trouvera au cœur de ses propres fantasmes, de ses souvenirs ou des sédimentations inconscientes de sa personnalité des échos à des situations que Joël Pommerat dit être « parties prenantes » de ce qu’il est et de ce qu’il a vécu. Scènes de séduction et d’humiliation, de guerre ou peut-être de crime, de pacte démoniaque ou de réconciliation avec Dieu, de remords ou d’espoir, d’abandon ou de foi : ce qui se joue du rapport entre le créateur et son public dans cette pièce est exactement ce qui est à l’œuvre dans l’art quand il naît du génie, à savoir une rencontre bouleversante qui dépasse ceux qu’elle met en présence. Les comédiens dirigés par Pommerat, comme toujours certes mais encore faut-il le rappeler, sont d’une authenticité, d’une précision, d’une justesse et d’une force extraordinaires. Tous les artistes réunis dans ce projet font preuve d’un talent qui laisse pantois. C’est peu dire que la Compagnie Louis Brouillard signe ici un chef-d’œuvre tant l’événement est fracassant d’évidence…
