Toutes deux se trouvent face à la mer, sur une plage abandonnée. L’une parle, c’est Angèle (incarnée par Pierre Carrive), une aide soignante à laquelle la vie n’a pas fait de cadeau. L’autre, une vieille femme (une silhouette de chiffons animée par l’acteur), ne prononcera pas un mot. Angèle va aider cette dernière à mettre fin à ses jours. Si Pierre Carrive a souhaité interpréter cette aide soignante « empêchée qui n’aspire qu’à être », c’est parce que ses mots lui sont immédiatement parvenus au plus profond. Et à ceux qui s’étonneraient de voir un homme interpréter une femme, le comédien rétorque que ce mélange « de genres » apporte la fantaisie, la tendresse et la monstruosité nécessaires à ce personnage. Ainsi qu’une certaine distance susceptible de faire tomber « les barrières d’un trop grand naturalisme pour nous atteindre au plus intime ».
