La scène flamenca est toujours affaire de personnalités, voire même de modes. Toujours à la recherche de nouveautés, d’étoiles « montantes », les aficionados placent très haut leur exigence, à l’aune d’un art évoluant sur le fil ténu de la tradition et de la modernité. Ce temps fort qui court tout au long du mois d’avril s’ouvre sur une valeur sûre : « la » Yerbabuena se met en scène accompagnée de quatre danseurs, alternant solos simples et renversants avec mouvements de groupe d’une grande force. Santo y Seña est sa dernière création, mais reprend les traces d’une matière chorégraphique éprouvée depuis de nombreuses années par la danseuse, déjà passée par Chaillot en 2003 et en 2006.
Grandes pièces et moments uniques
La vraie nouveauté passera sans doute par la rencontre organisée par le grand danseur de Grenade Mario Maya : il invite sa fille Belén et d’autres danseuses originales de la scène flamenca à confronter leurs styles. Un gala unique, qui donne à voir jeunes pousses et grandes danseuses populaires, comme Merche Esmeralda. Quelle place, à côté, pour la jeune Rocio Molina, qui dans son travail personnel n’hésite pas à danser pieds nus, en veste de cuir ou en académique ? Une rencontre au sommet à ne pas manquer, en attendant la reprise au mois de mai d’un spectacle phare de María Pagés, Volver a Sevilla.
