Après deux précédents cabarets qui ont connu un succès public bien mérité, les interprètes de la Comédie-Française repartent pour un tour en chansons, sous la houlette de leur spécialiste cathodique, l’indispensable Philippe Meyer ! Deux spectacles poursuivent, cette saison, l’aventure commencée en 2007 : en juillet 2012, sera présenté le florilège de cette collaboration fructueuse, et, pour attaquer la saison en beauté, est proposé le meilleur des Chansons déconseillées, interdites de diffusion sur les ondes sous tutelle moraliste, ou soumises à une écoute restreinte, « pas avant 22 heures », ou « pas avant minuit ». Dans cette anthologie de la censure, on découvrira quelques brûlots antimilitaristes, quelques savoureuses piques anticléricales, quelques éloges des amours en douce et en fraude, mais également des ritournelles inoffensives dont on s’étonnera qu’elles aient eu à subir les foudres de l’Inquisition médiatique, pendant que d’autres, plus rusées et subtiles, avaient obtenu l’imprimatur des censeurs… Le programme fait « leur part à tous les genres », promet Philippe Meyer, « en privilégiant la diversité des thèmes, des humeurs et des styles, ainsi que les découvertes ou les redécouvertes ». Avis, donc, à tous ceux qui veulent enfin savoir pourquoi Lucienne Boyer « ne croyait plus au Père Noël », quel est le prix d’un général, selon Francis Blanche, et pourquoi on ne voulait pas entendre Jacques Debronckardt avouer que sa « mère était espagnole »…
