Ils sont cinq, individualités saisies en coupe dans leur quotidien, voisins par la force des choses. Chacun vague à sa vie, enclos dans le périmètre d’un chez soi toujours trop à l’étroit. Les uns tentent de déborder le champ du possible, les autres empiètent les frontières du réel. Tous cherchent à truquer les menues joies et misères de l’existence. Inspiré d’un court métrage de Roy Anderson, Chansons du deuxième étage « se veut le plan-séquence chorégraphique d’un immeuble grotesque et surréaliste, habité par des âmes toujours en mouvement, poissons urbains d’un aquarium onirique. » explique la chorégraphe Francesca Cinalli, fondatrice de la compagnie piémontaise Tecnologia Filosofica. Accompagnés par une chanteuse et un musicien, les cinq danseurs évoluent dans une scénographie mouvante, où chaque porte invite à la dérobade ou au secret d’intimité. De soli en trios, ils déclinent les infinies variations d’une humanité toujours en quête d’équilibre, entre tragique et comique.
