L’Italie, la Grande-Bretagne et le Portugal sont à l’honneur de cette deuxième édition de la manifestation organisée par le Théâtre de la Ville. Le titre de Chantierseurope accole son objet et son projet, comme pour mieux signifier sa volonté de participer par les arts à la construction d’une Europe dont Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota remarque qu’elle « passe encore aujourd’hui pour un chantier – lentement démarré, souvent interrompu, sans cesse repris, toujours à venir ». Après une première édition consacrée à l’Italie, Chantierseurope poursuit son travail d’exploration avec quatre impératifs : accompagner des démarches artistiques novatrices, découvrir et faire connaître les nouvelles générations d’artistes européens, nouer des liens avec différents théâtres d’Europe et participer à la circulation et à la traduction des œuvres. Du 4 au 10 juin, Katie Mitchell, une des figures émergentes majeures de la scène européenne, installe Five stages of truth au Théâtre de la Ville et y explore les rapports entre vérité et théâtre. Trois concerts sont également au programme de la manifestation : un bal littéraire européen le 4 juin, une soirée exceptionnelle avec les plus grandes voix du Fado contemporain le 10 juin, et la venue de The divine comedy et Neil Hannon le 17 juin au Théâtre de la Ville.
L’Europe en toutes lettres
Le cycle de lecture commence le 6 juin avec deux textes : Le Pouvoir de dire oui – un dramaturge cherche à comprendre la crise financière, de David Hare, et T5, de Simon Stephens. Suivent : le 7 juin, Pages arrachées, de Hanif Kureishi ; le 9 juin, La Borto, de Saverio La Ruina ; le 10 juin, Contractions, de Mike Bartlett ; le 14 juin, Love & money, de Dennis Kelly ; le 16 juin, Dux in scatola, de Daniele Timpano, et, le 19 juin, Les Gens, d’Edward Bond. Sept spectacles promettent aussi des rendez-vous majeurs avec des talents d’importance. A tout seigneur, tout honneur : Patrice Chéreau présente, du 3 au 11 juin, I am the wind, de Jon Fosse, auteur qu’il choisit de mettre en scène pour la deuxième fois après le Rêve d’automne de ce début de saison. Les 6 et 7 juin, la Compagnie 1927 présente son magistral opus, The animals and children took to the streets au Théâtre des Abbesses. Du 3 au 9 juin, le CentQuatre, partenaire de la manifestation, accueille Roadkill, spectacle explosif de Cora Bissett. Les 9 et 10 juin, Ascanio Celestini revient avec La Fila Indiana. Le 11 juin, dans le cadre de la soirée hommage à Franco Quadri, décédé le 26 mars dernier, Antonio Rezza et Flavia Mastrella présentent 7-14-21-28. Les 14 et 15 juin Mario Martone porte à la scène les Petites œuvres morales (Operette morali) de Leopardi. Enfin, du 14 au 16 juin, la Compagnie Action Hero présente Watch me fall.
