Théâtre de St Quentin Yvelines / création jazz
Scénarisé par le producteur radiophonique Amaury Chardeau et scénographié par l’artiste plasticien Xavier Veilhan, « Dress Code » s’offre comme un concert atypique dans le paysage du jazz hexagonal, habitué à des formats plus conventionnels. Suivant une trame narrative, la musique met en scène un moment nocturne, l’histoire futuriste d’une femme qui découvre que le monde court à sa perte. En tandem, à l’issue d’une résidence à l’abbaye de Royaumont, les deux maîtres d’œuvre de ce projet, le pianiste Christophe Chassol et le flûtiste Joce Mienniel, ont développé un répertoire basé sur cette fiction, à laquelle prennent part le poète slammeur américain Mike Ladd et le batteur Mathieu Edouard, qui est de toutes les aventures de Chassol. Leur long métrage sonore fait se rencontrer les multiples musiques que chacun pratique, dans un télescopage d’influences qui se veut une réflexion sur la liberté de créer, et aspire à emporter le spectateur auditeur dans les méandres de ses grooves.
