Conception et interprétation Jani Nuutinen et Julia Christ
Chacun de son côté, Jani Nuutinen et Julia Christ ont développé un rapport singulier au cirque, leur discipline d’origine. Jani s’est éloigné du jonglage classique pour se tourner vers la manipulation d’objets, puis vers le mentalisme. Julia, elle, s’est rapprochée de la danse. Ce sont donc leurs propres mélanges, leurs propres chimères qu’ils interrogent dans leur première création commune Chimæra. Utilisant les quatre éléments basiques de l’alchimie – le feu, l’eau, l’air et la terre –, les deux artistes se construisent des personnages fabuleux. En combinant leurs pratiques de cirque respectives, d’habitude isolées les unes des autres, ils imaginent « une manière de danser à deux, de vivre dans le même espace et inventer ainsi un monde chimérique de nous deux. Où tout ce qui est étranger semble logique et cohérent, comme dans un rêve ».
