C’est dans tous les bons coins et même les petits recoins de la petite ville qui fut un grand centre médiéval que se tient ce festival, entièrement gratuit. Sur le vaste parvis de l’hôtel de ville comme sur les bords de la Vienne, au cœur de la forteresse comme dans un cloître. A chaque fois, les spectateurs pourront découvrir des musiciens guère mis en avant par ailleurs. A relever notamment l’idée baptisée « Joue-la Collectif en caravane ! », qui consiste à transformer une caravane en mini salle de spectacle. L’enjeu : une formule changeante, pas plus de quatre musiciens (mêlant pros de deux collectifs locaux et élèves du conservatoire) qui jouent devant 12 spectateurs maximum un récital de dix minutes… et ainsi de suite. Deux autres rendez-vous à noter : la performance qui va réunir le vocaliste suisse Andreas Schaerer (tout un poème) et le guitariste finlandais Kalle Kalima (trop peu médiatisé, si souvent dans les bons coups), qui se tiendra sous la nef de la collégiale Saint-Mexme (le 8, à 22h30) ; le trio Un Poco Loco, une visite pour le moins récréative de l’histoire du jazz guidée par le tromboniste Fidel Fourneyron.
