Il y a quelques mois, lors du précédent concert de Figure Humaine à Paris, Denis Rouger avait déjà choisi d’inscrire des œuvres de Mendelssohn à son programme, par ailleurs dominé par la musique française et des orchestrations remarquables de sa main de mélodies de Duparc ou Fauré. Son chœur de 18 solistes, fondé en 2005 et véritable nouveau venu dans la cour des grands de la musique vocale en France, oriente son projet musical vers les répertoires allemands et français du XIXè siècle. Figure Humaine replonge aujourd’hui dans l’univers de Mendelssohn en associant deux œuvres magnifiques emblématiques de la créativité précoce du compositeur, le Kyrie en ré mineur et le Te Deum composés à l’âge de 16 et 17 ans, à un grand chef-d’œuvre de la maturité, les Sechs Sprüche opus 79 pour choeur à 8 voix a capella. Cette série de petites pièces courtes, très rarement données en concert en France, probablement en raison de leurs difficultés d’interprétation, compte pourtant parmi les plus précieux joyaux de l’héritage vocal romantique allemand. Ecouter ces pièces en concert est un véritable cadeau. Avec Yves Castagnet (orgue) et Vérène Westphal (violoncelle).
