Les psaumes sont pour les compositeurs une féconde source d’inspiration. C’est ce que montre ce nouveau programme du Chœur Vittoria d’Île-de-France avec la création de 137, pour trois voix solistes, chœur mixte, deux pianos et percussions. S’inscrivant dans une tradition qui a donné au xxe siècle quelques chefs-d’œuvre choraux (de la Symphonie de psaumes de Stravinsky aux Chichester Psalms de Bernstein), Bernard de Vienne, compositeur de 51 ans, a imaginé une vaste fresque d’où émane une réflexion sur la destinée humaine. En première partie, le Psaume 136 où Joseph-Guy Ropartz (1864-1955) puise son inspiration à la même source. Grand défenseur du compositeur breton, Michel Piquemal a enregistré l’œuvre pour Naxos ; il la dirige ici dans sa version sans orchestre, en miroir de la création de Bernard de Vienne.
