La mode est aujourd’hui aux chœurs de chambre professionnels : Accentus, Rias Kammerchor, Monteverdi Choir… Ces formations défendent une esthétique sonore remarquablement claire et homogène, mais que certains trouveront parfois un peu froide. Michel Piquemal se situe à l’opposé de cette tendance. Avec son chœur Vittoria, composé de chanteurs amateurs de la région Ile-de-France, il privilégie des effectifs vocaux bien plus importants, offrant des lectures généreuses – parfois un peu approximatives techniquement mais toujours sincères – des grandes partitions chorales. Ce mois-ci, Vittoria poursuit son exploration de la musique de Rossini (après le Stabat Mater à l’automne) en donnant la délicieuse Petite messe solennelle. A noter que la partie originale d’harmonium sera ici interprétée à l’accordéon.
