Alors qu’ils préparent leur prochaine création L’Ogresse des archives et son chien, Christian et François Ben Aïm prennent le temps de s’arrêter au festival d’Avignon pour montrer l’évolution d’un véritable travail de compagnie, mené sur les rives de la danse-théâtre avec le même désir pour une franche physicalité et un rapport complice avec la musique. Ô mon frère, créé en 2001, s’inspirait des clichés du photographe Josef Koudelka et rassemblait trois danseurs dans une épopée fraternelle où la rudesse de la vie se lisait dans une écriture flirtant avec le corps à corps, le combat ou l’empoignade, sur des musiques de Leonard Cohen.

Ils présentent également leur dernière création, envolée légère conçue sous la forme d’un triptyque explorant trois styles musicaux différents. Valse à trois temps a la générosité des projets pensés sans complexe et sans contraintes : un solo, un duo, et un trio portés par les deux chorégraphes et par des danseuses rompues au style mouvementé des deux frères : le duo prend son élan dans une relation homme-femme qui swingue et s’emporte haut les corps ; le trio propose un univers à la fois sombre et burlesque qui colle aux accents déjantés des Tiger Lillies. Plus surprenant, le solo dévoile une écriture plus fine et plus abstraite, qu’Aurélie Berland porte avec une grande justesse. Toujours sur le fil et dans une grande délicatesse, elle nous fait traverser différents états composés et recomposés sur des grands tubes de la musique classique. A déguster sans modération, le solo est présent cet été dans deux lieux du Off.
