Encore méconnu en France (où l’on regorge de grands talents au violoncelle), Christian Poltéra a vu le jour à Zürich en 1977. Il a reçu l’enseignement de Nancy Chumachenco, Boris Pergamenschikow et Heinrich Schiff avant de débuter une fulgurante carrière soliste marquée par des collaborations majeures parmi lesquelles Gidon Kremer, Riccardo Chailly ou Bernard Haitink. Invité du Musée d’Orsay, en clôture du cycle « Regards sur la Suisse », ce violoncelliste surdoué défend un beau programme d’œuvres pour violoncelle et piano partagé entre les suisses Willy Burkhard et Arthur Honegger, puis les français Debussy et Fauré. Peu familier du public français, Burkhard (1900-1955) est pourtant à considérer comme l’un des musiciens les plus influents de son pays au cours de la première moitié du XXe siècle, grand pédagogue et réformateur de la musique religieuse protestante.
